• 1. You will need to have a catalogue of HD footage that the Production Department feel would be relevant to LandscapeHD.
• 2. You will have to have signed and returned our 'Director of Photography' contract with all the relevant information filled in.
   

Footage that is going to 'cut the mustard' is down to 2 key elements. Firstly are they long duration shots. We normally shoot clips that are 30 seconds plus (this can be reduced in the edit if need be). This is because the music we use is generally soft and slow and we try to emulate the feel of the music as much as possible. It is not unusual for us to use a 2 minute shot if the subject matter is compelling enough. Second is the camera steady. We don't use much handheld footage and anything shot on sticks or tracks must be smooth and consistent or it won't be usable.
 

The Subject Matter
The subject matter can be anything found in the natural world as long as the Production Department think that it is relevant. Below is a list of some of the different types of footage that we have used in the past. We tend to stay away from footage that has regular human activity that is datable by clothing or style, it unless it is timelapse footage or some ethnic scenes where images are timeless.Historically we have tended to stick to one specific subject per music video (we create a story around it and it compliments the music). With this in mind the most useable footage will consist of say 15 minutes on each subject to allow us to edit according to what the music is doing. As a rule we stay away from things that cause anxiety - pain and suffering, death, creepy crawlies, morbidity, anger, etc are all things that are to be avoided:)

Types of Footage Used
Footage from countries with hot climates - It's always good to see blue skies:)
Footage from countries with cold climates - We like snow:)
Footage of unusual subject matter - From the Golden Gate Bridge to the Taj Mahal, from an ant hill to an Oak tree. Anything that tells a story.
Aerial footage - Gyroscopic is preferred but Harnessed is useable if there isn't too much movement.
Underwater footage - Any (subject pending).
Macro footage - Some of the most interesting videos are where you exactly don't know what you are viewing because it is shot in macro.
Timelapse Footage - For those wanting to submit timelapse footage shot on DSLR make sure the camera was set to manual for shooting so there aren't any variations in brightness due to auto exposure.

Quantity
NOTE:*** The minimum amount of source footage is set at 20 minutes (per subject) as that should allow us enough to create one music video (This is providing it is shot to a high standard). *If you only have a small amount of footage we would recommend you look at our Producers page.

The maximum amount of footage you submit is up to you. The more footage submitted the more exposure/royalties you will receive.

Delivery
Obviously this is dependent on the amount of footage you submit but we would normally send you an external hard drive to fill.
